Symptoms: RoboCAD was previously working fine, but it now exits with "Error 1" immediately you press 1 to "Run RoboCAD". On fast computers you will not see the error message.
Scope: This error has been reported when using Windows NT 4.0, with either service pack 3 or 4 applied, and RoboCAD installed in an NTFS partition.
Diagnosis: Using the Windows NT command prompt (Start:Programs:Command Prompt), navigate to the RoboCAD directory (folder), and run the RoboCAD executable file directly. For instance, if RoboCAD is installed on the D: drive in folder ROBO20 type:
D: <enter>
cd \robo20 <enter>
robocad <enter>
...where <enter> means press the Enter key.
If you do not have this problem, RoboCAD will run: if you do have the problem you will get the Error 1 message (and RoboCAD will not run). You can either type exit and press Enter, or click the close icon (X symbol in the top right of the command prompt window, if visible) to close the command prompt window.
Cause: The error is caused by the Windows NT file system producing a subtle corruption of the file RC_4.OVL.
Correction: To correct the problem simply re-copy this file from your Overlay, Program and Hardware diskette to the RoboCAD directory, replacing the original version.
